Custom Bottom
Dump Trailers

The Custom Body Dump Trailers are the lightest bulk commodity trailers in the range, fully custom-made to suit your business needs.

Since 2011 GLT has been building B-Double bottom dump trailers as light as 9.7 tonnes. This means, you could have a paid load of over 44 tonnes on GML with a light weight truck.

Designed and made in Australia, GLT bottom dump trailers feature the highest quality parts and materials.

Low Tare Weight Trailer Body
GLT bottom dump bodies are exclusively made from marine grade aluminium plate. We recommend thicknesses of 6mm for the floor and 5mm for the walls.

Our construction methods allow us to dramatically decrease the tare weight by having a chassis-less design. The body is engineered to have the skid plate and suspension modules bolted to the main aluminium assembly.

Top coamings are also an exclusive aluminium extrusion. These specialised extrusions increase the tub body strength while maintaining exceptional tare weight. All top coamings are either huck riveted or bolted with stainless steel bolts. This method of construction allows the coaming to flex and reduces the risk of cracking.

Compartments are custom designed to achieve your desired cubic capacity and axle weights. The floor angle is also customised to suit the angle of repose for your product.

Product is discharged through multiple chutes at the base of the trailer. Depending on the type of combination you are after, compartment locations and discharge points can be moved to achieve correct axle weights.

All GLT bottom dump trailers are chassis-less design. The skid plate and suspension modules are bolted onto the body which decreases the tare weight of the trailer. Chutes can be optioned with manual wind open or electronic remote controls.

All nuts, bolts and washers are stainless steel. All GLT trailers are laser wheel aligned prior to delivery. GLT chassis tippers are available in tandem, tri or quad axle configurations. We have a large range of options to customise your new chassis tipper. See below for some of our most popular options.

Tough Steel Chassis
The GLT bottom dump is a unique design which incorporates a quenched and tempered skid plate module and a 700 grade rear suspension module.

To gain maximum tare weight savings on B trailers, aluminium suspension hangers can be optioned. These aluminium hangers are welded directly onto the main beams which eliminate all steel work from the rear of the trailer.

All edges on flanges are sanded and polished to reduce the chances of cracking and to help paint adhere to the steel.

Suspension for Aussie Roads
Suspension for
Aussie Roads
GLT trailers are designed to handle the harsh Australian conditions. The correct suspension and axle selection is one of the most important factors in the trailers’ ability to survive our unique roads.

Air bag suspension offers better ride quality, low tare weight and simplified ways of reading load weights. The preferred brands which we supply have passed our field testing protocol and have excellent after sales support. All trailers with air bag suspension are equipped with ball valve taps to isolate individual bags. These taps will allow you to shut off an air bag if it has an issue.
