Shay Chalmers is a seasoned engineering management professional and a keynote speaker with a global track record in diverse manufacturing environments, from steel to medical devices. Proudly based in Queensland, Shay witnesses daily the exceptional quality and problem-solving skills demonstrated by our local manufacturers.
Starting her career in the USA at a consolidated steel mill, Shay rapidly climbed the leadership ladder, managing a team of 150 employees by the age of 25. Following this, she spent six impactful years at Cook Medical, gaining experience in production, process engineering, and project management across Australia and Europe.
In 2017, Shay founded Strategic Engineering Australia, a consultancy firm specialising in strategic planning, process re-engineering, and project management for manufacturing applications. Her commitment to excellence has made her a trusted advisor in the industry.
Looking ahead, Shay recognises the looming skills shortage in Australia and is actively involved in various boards and committees to address this challenge. Collaborating with government and industry, her goal is to ensure a prosperous and innovative future for Australian manufacturing.

Matthew Osler holds the role of Chief Financial Officer at GLT, part of the TIP Group (ASX: TIP), where he has been instrumental in driving finance transformation and leading budgeting initiatives since December 2022. With over a decade of experience in finance and accounting, Matthew’s expertise spans across technical accounting, auditing, and compliance. Prior to his current role, he held key positions within TIP Group, including Head of Internal Audit and Compliance, where he focused on finance transformation and regulatory adherence.
Before joining TIP Group, Matthew honed his skills at EY in Sydney, where he served as Manager for both Accounting Technical and Assurance, strengthening his capabilities in relationship building and financial analysis. His early career also includes roles at Deloitte South Africa in Risk Advisory and Forensics, and as an auditor with EY and D Kalmin & Company in Johannesburg.
Matthew holds a BCom in Accounting from the University of Johannesburg and an Honors degree (BCompt) in Accounting from UNISA, bringing a strong academic foundation to his comprehensive financial leadership. His career reflects a deep commitment to fostering financial integrity and enhancing organisational compliance across diverse industries.
Leanne Stewart is results-driven, bringing over 20 years of experience in leading transformation and driving sustainable growth. Deeply curious and passionate about improving business performance, Leanne excels at questioning, planning, and executing strategic agendas that align people, systems, and processes.
Throughout her career, Leanne has thrived on the challenge of delivering results, having spent 14 years with major multinationals like 3M and GE. Her expertise spans the automotive aftermarket, rail transportation, and mining sectors. Leanne’s ability to see the big picture allows her to communicate a clear vision while developing detailed plans that drive customer engagement and retention.
Leanne is adept at influencing key stakeholders to prioritise customer needs, ensuring that strategies are aligned with market demands. She has strong cross-functional leadership skills and excels at building networks across all stakeholder levels, facilitating collaboration among diverse groups to successfully deliver projects.
